FLAX SEED OIL - PRICE PER KG

100% Natural and Pure

Flax is one of the oldest plants of the world. The annual flax plant grows 60 - 120cm tall with mostly blue blossoms. The seeds are contained in a ball-shaped capsule.

Linseed oil is a vegetable oil, which is obtained from linseeds (Linum usitatissimum). The annual flax grows to a size of 60-120 cm with mostly blue flowers. The seeds are contained in a spherical capsule. The dried brown capsules of the plant each contain 6-7 seeds with an oil content of approx. 38-44 %.

Flaxseeds occur in two basic varieties/colors: brown or yellow (golden linseeds).

Most types of these basic varieties have similar nutritional characteristics and equal numbers of short-chain omega-3 fatty acids. An exception is a type of yellow flax called solin (trade name "Linola"), which has a completely different oil profile and is very low in omega-3s (alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), specifically).

Flaxseeds produce a vegetable oil known as flaxseed oil or linseed oil, which is one of the oldest commercial oils. It is an edible oil obtained by expeller pressing and sometimes followed by solvent extraction. Solvent-processed flaxseed oil has been used for many centuries as a drying oil in painting and varnishing.

To obtain the oil, the seeds are pressed after grinding and if applicable refined. Linseed oil is an oleic, linoleic, but especially linolenic acid-rich, strongly drying oil which, when spread out, solidifies to a solid, transparent film within 24 to 36 hours.

usage:

Cosmetics:

Linseed oil is mixed with other oils (e.g. jojoba oil) for regenerating extremely strained, cracked and dry skin. Because of its strongly drying effect it is also used for colors, varnish and linoleum.

Food

Excellent edible oil for refining salads, vegetable oils and mueslis.

Pharmaceuticals:

In naturopathy linseed oil is used as a supplement for humans and animals due to ist high content of alpha-linolenic acid.

In veterinary medicine linseed oil is used e.g. as laxative for sheep and horses and in cosmetics e.g. in peeling creams.

Technical:

Linseed oil is also used in technical chemistry. It serves as a raw material to produce oil paints, varnishes, oil varnishes and linoleum, and to a lesser extent also for the modification of alkyd resins and for the preparation of soft soaps and printing inks. Due to its polymerising properties, linseed oil can be used as a colour binding agent.
